Poetry

When She Calls

Some days I awaken
Unsettled and shaken
And I know it is not a day like any other
But a day for retreat
A day on which I need rest but more
I need the serene
I need the green world
Away from any artificial edifice

To be
Where the wind sighs in endless murmur
Branches careen in endless dance
Water calls in endless song
She sings
Peace, darling
Let me hold you awhile
Let me remind you what is real
And who you are

You are
A child of nature
A child of the stars
A weaver of magic
A spinner of dreams
You answer to no one
But the wisdom of the Cosmos
And she says
Life dances in you
The earth lives through you
The world reflects and amplifies you
A tiny perfect fractal
Of the unified whole

You are the living breath
Of a boundless Universe
A ripple on the ceaseless wave
From which springs all Creation
An exhale of Eternity
Fanning the spark of awareness
That yet lives in all
Lie still for a moment
Breathe
Be
